Donna, Here are the steps I took to try and reproduce this. If I am doing something different let me know.
1) Open the Sample File and make sure there are no broken media links. 2) Open Asa Clark Brown's Assigned Sources List. 3) Highlight the first one the list (Minnesota, Hennepin County...) and Edit Detail. 4) Attach a test image to Detail's Media Gallery (I created a TEST IMAGE.jpg to make it easy) 5) Close the dialog boxes and recheck for broken links (there are none) 6) Open the Picture Center. 7) Find the TEST IMAGE.jpg and rename it. 8) Close the Picture Center. 9) Test for broken links. There are none. I split off some names and tried the media relinker, ended up having to attach each picture again. I can use the picture center to rename attached media file names used by events or individuals but if that file is used by a source the file is lost until I re link it.
