Bill,
if you are using another program, the problem may be with that program.

The gedcom should have the information they didn't marry in it if you've checked the box that they didn't marry but to be absolutely sure, make the Marriage Status for them in Legacy Unmarried.

To see that it's in the gedcom, import it back into Legacy to a new file.

Hello Cathy, I use an external program to print in PDF format the
content of a Gedcom file. That PDF indicates he married both the
partner and his wife.
Is there a way for Legacy 8 Deluxe to present the information that he
did not marry his first partner. Perhaps Legacy may need a symbol for
Partners as well as the Spouse one.
Thanks
Bill

Hello Bill,

Repeat in different words.

"spouse" in "Spouse list" and "marriage" in "Marriage list" don't say
anything about whether the couple were married or not.
They're just reporting couple relationships that you've entered or
implied by adding a child to one parent.

The Marriage List is NOT saying he married twice. It is saying he had
two relationships - just as you explained he did.

Hello Cathy, the problem is that although he did not marry the partner
his spouse link shows he had two spouses hence, I presume, is the
reason the Marriage List shows he did marry twice.

Bill,
All relationships will be in the Marriage l ist. That is shortcut for
Marriage/Relationship just like the Marriage Information screen is
where you enter whether a couple married or not.

Whether a partner is entered or unknown, all relationships where
either partner or child is entered have an MRIN so are in the
"Marriage" List.

Is that the problem?

Or does a report say that he married the first person?

Hello, I have a person who was with a partner. On that page I have
Partners indicated and not Husband and Wife. The not married box is
also ticked.
Some years later he married another person and that page indicates
Husband and Wife. The problem is that his spouse link indicates he
married the first person and this also is recorded as such in the
*Marriage List. Is there a way to rectify this entry. Thanks, Bill.
