Carolyn, it is probably hidden behind your taskbar - bottom left corner
of screen. These secondary windows don't show on the taskbar itself.
No doubt by now you've found some way out.
Note that a better option is to click the floating window icon in the
right bottom corner rather than minimising direct if you need to consult
your database before following a hint.

I opened the "Hints" link for an individual and minimized it so I
could more easily see the person's information on my Legacy page and
now Legacy has frozen! I can see no way to "unminimize" it (not on
task bar) and cannot even close Legacy!
