Madeleine,
It seems in this case it would be quicker to relink them yourself by
going to the gallery where they are linked. This information is on the
missing media list.
When you click on the icons for the missing media, you get the choice to
use the Media Relinker or to find them yourself.
You may want to copy them out of your Family Tree Maker Media folder and
link to them in a sub-folder of your Legacy Media.

Leon, thanks for your reply.
I have specified the C: drive but the .tmp file or .docx file is in a
Family Tree Maker Media folder on the C:drive. It takes about 20 mins
for the for the relinker to search my C:drive. I have many media
files, not Legacy ones.
I did an add media to the persons event or source detail and managed
to reduce the number of missing media from 18 to 14, but I thought
maybe there was some quicker way to tell the re-linker where to look.
Apparently not.

Madeleine;
When using the Relinker, you just specify the Drive(s) you want to
search (e.g., C:, D:). Normally, you would just select the C: drive.
The Relinker will search the entire drive to find your picture files.
When complete, you can choose to have them copied into the Legacy
default Media file location. You cannot specify a folder to search in
the Relinker, just a Drive.
The Family Tree Maker file could be an issue — that sounds like a
database and not a picture file. Legacy will only link picture files
with an extension of JPEG, PNG & document files like PDF, Word.
Normally, you would only link picture files. So, I am not sure what
you mean by FTM file??

I have just updated to Legacy 9. I have 16 media files which need to
be relinked. I know which file they are in. How do I tell the
Re-linker what file to look in? It does not seem to allow for that
situation. I have printed out the missing files and know who they
are associated with, but there must be some easy way to tell the
relinker what file on my computer to look in. I have "gathered"
files several times and the relinker is missing the file which is a
Family Tree Maker file.
