Margaret,
In the Descendant book options - Wording Tab 2
the default is
General Notes:
Make that
General Notes:[CR]
Then your title will be on a new line and it should be preserving your
formatting.
It seems to be in Legacy 9.
If you want General Notes also in bold, highlight it and use the
keyboard shortcut Ctrl + B.
Then it would look like this: «b»General Notes:«/b»[CR]
Of course you could change it from General Notes to Transcriptions or
whatever suits you.
If you are editing in a Word Processor to add that extra line, it would
be the word processor losing your formatting.

For many years now I have transcribed under the General tab, deeds,
wills, obits, etc. I have always put the first item I entered on the
first line. Then I would bold and under the heading for the item I
was transcribing. However, when I finally decided to print the
details in a report such as "Decendant Book", the first item I entered
began as
"General Notes: Indiana Weekly Messenger, Thursday, February 27,
1919, Page 1, Indiana, Indiana Co, PA"
Then my problem began when I moved the title line to the next line,
the bold and underline no longer appear for that first title line.
Then I must do a bold and underline - save each time - and on the 3rd
time the bold and underline will appear again in the report.
Is there a fix for this issue? I have almost 20,000 people in my tree
and that is a lot of bolding & underlining x 3 for each person.
Please help!!
Thanks
Margaret
