Yes,
this is a known issue.
also with other duplicate checks you'll find husband listed as father.
I don't think it makes any difference to the merge - just disconcerting
- but I could be wrong so take extra care.

When adding a new individual, I have legacy set to “check for
duplicates”. When it comes up with similar names, the window opens and
shows the possible duplicates, one by one. What I find odd is that in
each case, if the potential duplicate found is a married individual,
and they have only one spouse, that spouse shows up as “Spouse #2” in
all cases.
While it does not seem to be causing any issues, it does seem a bit
odd to me and therfore this question. Apologies if this has been asked
before but I didn’t find reference to earlier query’s, if there were any.
