Charley,
Your emails are attachments (that not everyone knows how to read)
because you are using a Yahoo email address.
Get a gmail or other address and they won't.
I think there are one or two other email providers that also come as
attachments.
Re the empty boxes - that's a known problem.
It may work to make them invisible instead of deleting or unlinking them
and then check to not include Invisible people in Privacy options on the
Home Ribbon Tab.
