Legacy has lots more options I think than FTM.
I don't think it's any harder to use than FTM but does things
differently so when you're used to one system there's a learning curve.
Legacy possibly isn't as good at media as FTM.
I've never wanted to print a single picture from Legacy as I don't see
it as a Photo Editor or Organiser.
However here's how you can:
When you are in a Media Gallery with the photo you want to print, if the
Gallery contains a lot of photos, first use Options to Untag all photos.
Then tag the one you want to print (that's the checkbox above each media
item) and then go to Options - Photo Album and check to only included
Tagged photos.
You likely will want to return to Options and retag all media.
The default in Legacy is that media is tagged.
In photo albums you can choose to only include tagged images.
In reports you can choose to include either preferred tagged or
preferred untagged image.
Note the preferred image is shown with an asterisk in a Media Gallery.
