I have a Legacy family file on a desktop computer which I also access from
my laptop computer. From the laptop the 'Legacy Family Tree' folder is
defined as L:. The location of my family file is therefore L:\Data\ and
the location of the media files is L:\Media\. To access my family files
from my laptop, I must first go to L:/Data in File Explorer and select and
open 'MyFamilyFile'.FDB. Legacy automatically runs and my family file is
opened. If I first run Legacy, my family file is not located, and when I
try to open it manually from within Legacy, the L: drive is not even found.
It is also not seen when I go to Customize/Locations. If I have previously
opened the family file using File Explorer, the L: drive is seen, and
everything works great.

In simple terms, Legacy does not see the L: drive unless I've already
accessed it through File Explorer to run Legacy. Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Jim
