Alan,

Had a similar problem again tonight. Using the split screen view, did a drag and drop of the data in a Legacy file into my "master" file. Had about 15 children that were flagged as a problem. Check/Repair reported it fixed the problem.

Also having a problem with file maintenance. Can not do the file, compact family file without extensive experimenting. Keeps saying that it can not run because another copy of the file is open or something like that. Nothing shows when I check for a Legacy file still running after closing Legacy. Using Ctrl-alt-Del, no Legacy applications or process file open, but still get the same message when I try opening Legacy and try the file, compact family file again. Doing other operations like combining duplicate locations and other things finally allows file, compact family file to work. Happened numerous times today and previous days.

I am encountering problems with Merging trees in Legacy 9.0.0.189 (Latest Build) from one Legacy Tree into another using drag and drop in split screen view and was wondering if it was a known problem or if anyone else is experiencing the same problem.

The problem happens when I drag an individual (who has a wife and children records linked) from the source file onto the matching individual in the destination file (who does not yet have any wife and children records linked). The wife and children are being successfully transferred to the destination file but the children are not being displayed under the parents in Family View because, it seems, the merge process has failed to create a child link in the parents’ marriage record for each child. This becomes apparent when Check/Repair is run after completing the Merge routine, when a the following message is displayed:

Check/Repair of Legacy Family File: C:\Users\Acer\Documents\Family\LegacyData\Family.fdb

Date: 08-25-2017

Please check this file very carefully.

It's a good idea to run another Check/Repair after you verify the items in this file.

======================================================================

There are 1 Individual record(s) that point to parents but are missing a Child Link:

======================================================================

                Individual: RIN 107956, Parents' MRIN: 33962,  Fixed the Child Link.

Note (1): (IMPORTANT) this only seems to be a problem when the parent’s marriage record is blank in the Source file.

Note (2): This problem occurs for all families included in the merge criteria where the marriage record is blank.

Note (2): this problem never occurred for me in earlier versions of Legacy.

I am also reporting this problem to support.

Thanks for your time
