Hi

You were right, the Master Event Addresses list had the Only
Tagged flag turned on – don’t know why.

Chris

Chris,

Screenshots of the Options - Customise settings is the only way I know to
actually see the settings you are using.

They are saved in Profile.dbm and the FF specific ones are also saved in the
relevant Family File.

If you've saved your settings from Options - Customise using the Options for
Default Settings button, then you can restore your defaults using that same
button. I think you say you've done that but the problem with the missing
addresses recurs. I'm not sure why that would be.

If you've saved ...\Documents\Legacy Family Tree\_AppData\usr\ folder amongst
your backups, you can restore at least the profile.dbm and be back to the
settings you saved before the crash you had.

Re your missing addresses - are you sure you didn't have a filter on? Most of
the Master Lists have optional filters that sometimes get checked in error.

TeamViewer is a culprit for some people with blank lists. I guess you've
checked that it isn't running in the background.

Hi

I had a problem with my PC today – refused to restart from a sleep,
getting as far as the keyboard active but no display or response. OK,
that often happens, but I has Legacy active when I put it to sleep.

So, I had to power off and restart, which worked alright EXCEPT that I
have my hard disks as RAID 1 pairs so that I am safe from a dead disk.
Once the PC gets going, it then takes a few hours for the Intel RAID
software to reverify and recover the RAID images. Makes the PC slow at
the time but it is generally usable.

I restarted Legacy and linked back into Ancestry and carried on
updating my data with new census records. Then I needed to add the
details of a baptism. I loaded the person’s Informat ion display,
clicked on the Baptism Address and, knowing that the church was
already in my Master event Address list, clicked on the Address List
button. DISASTER, the list only shows me one address entry. Get the
same if I use the View / Master Lists route. Check the details on
other people and the address information is shown when I go through
the baptism, marriage and death address fields, so it seems that the
data is present but is not being displayed.

I made a backup of the database, and then ran Check/Repair. That
errored immediately with an Error: 0 display referring to Error Code
3021. Ran a Compact on the database and then Check/Repair again, with
no errors flagged. Still have the same problem.

Did an export to a new Legacy file and started testing on that, still
with the same problem. This seems to be the _Master Lists not
populating issue_. I do have TeamViewer installed but it was not active, and my
system is very complex in terms of the software I have
installed – retired IT Manager and still doing IT support.

>From the _Screens and lists are blank or not showing all data_ it is
suggesting that I switch to the Legacy-Defaults settings. Saved my
current settings as User-Defaults first and then switched to the
Legacy-Defaults. Now the Master Event Addresses do appear. If I switch
back to the User-Defaults the no longer appear.

So, hopefully, I have resolved the issue. But what I now need to do to
find a way to get a list of my user settings in the Customise Legacy
display so that I can then re-apply them over the default settings.

Is there an easy way to do that or do I have to screen scape the
displays so that I can refer to them to modify the default settings????

Regards

Chris
