Carol,

If all the media is in one folder then the option you say has disappeared is actually still there in the Media Relinker. When you say - yes that's the image that was missing - there's two buttons you can click. One is just for that particular image, the second is for that image and any others missing in that folder.

Re changing computers. If the path to the media actually reads [Default Media Folder]\<subfolder names if any> when you look at View - Master Lists - Media Folders then all you need to do to re-attach the media is change Options-Customise 6.2 to the new location. [Default Media Folder]\ is the code introduced in Legacy 8 for the path in Option 6.2 If that isn't what is showing (you can also see this at 6.2 under the "View Current List of Media Folders" button) then you can use Search - Search and Replace on Media folders to replace the path you enter at 6.2 with [Default Media Folder]\

Once that is done, your problems will be over if you only add media to that one folder or sub-folders of it.

Michelle,

I just tried the media relinker on just the J drive, and all but 36 files were retrieved. The only problem is when I go to another computer, the flash drive port might not be named J. At the FHL they will give me many, many drives to search, and I have to delete all but the drive that my flash drive happens to be inserted into on that particular computer.

It used to be so easy. Once I relinked one photo, Legacy knew the source for all of the photos. Can that option be restored? I think it disappeared with version 9.

Michelle,

Thank you for your quick response. You asked:

1) Did you move the Dropbox folder using the Dropbox tool to move your folder?

/Dropbox has always been in the same location, on my Desktop/Dropbox. Otherwise, I am not understanding your question./

2) Did you use the Media Relinker to correct your file paths?

/Yes, it still says I'm missing 3036 media files./

/
/What is next?/

Greetings,

I have reset my media files under 6.2 prior to updating to the new Legacy version. My file designations follow this pattern:

C:\Users\Carol\Desktop\Dropbox\Legacy Images - and so forth for Docs, Videos, and Sound files.

I also set the path for my flash drive:

J:\Legacy Media\

When I test the file paths, Legacy can't find any of my files. This is extremely frustrating. What am I doing incorrectly?
