Gretchen,

You can run Legacy in Spanish. I suggest you make both a backup of your database and a copy of your database and use that when you change language (Options - Select Language) as Event Sentence definitions are reverted to default definitions. The backup is because I'm not sure where in the process the reversion to default Event Sentences happens. I usually change Option - Customise 1.2 to make sure I'm not opening the file that has my own event sentence definitions.

Of course your English notes won't be converted to Spanish.

Legacy Reports do have a lot of options that take some learning.

There may be value in using a different program but I've always been disappointed when I have taken a look at others - but I don't think I've trialled the one under discussion at the moment.

Thank you for including this information on TCGR. This is the answer to how to preserve 60 years of research in several languages. Wish Spanish were available for the products.

Sorry, I should not have used the abbreviation

It stands for *T*he *C*omplete *G*enealogy *R*eporter from Nigel Bufton Software, a rather impressive report generator that can do things I have not found elsewhere.

Please forgive my ignorance, but what is TCGR?

Interesting subject.

I also use TCGR to create reports but so far, I 've just created PDF and I have thought about including internet links but I’ve not done it yet.

One reason is that I have a poor experience of how permanent a URL is. It can be changed or removed and by now, FamilySearch requires a login, which significantly limits the availability. I have so far downloaded pictures and linked them to my database with reference to the source.

But, I now have more than 1000 pictures and especially my backup become very big, I'm also considering incorporating movies and audio which does not improve the case.

One solution could be to upload the movies to my private cloud (Onedrive) and link them to Legacy

Some other ideas?

Henk

If you put them in notes it will work.

To use the ones from the Media Gallery needs a programming change which is why I said to send in the suggestion as I can't check at the moment to see if it's there.
