Lyne,
RIN is quite a different number and is the main identification number
for someone in the database. It makes no sense to replace it with the
Ahnentafel number. It's what's used to link all the information in
different tables of the database to the individual concerned.
It does make sense for the Ahnentafel number to be generated on various
reports using the starting person for the report or chart. I know there
are suggestions logged re reports, I don't know whether there are any
logged for Charting. Send in the suggestion that they be available for
Ancestor style charts. See the icon on the Help Ribbon in Legacy or the
link from the Legacy Home tab.

Thanks Cathy for your answer. You’re right Stradonitz, Ahnentafel and
Sosa are different names for the same numbering system.
Since the software permit to choose the starting person for each chart
or report, the possibility to renumber the family tree and give a RIN
number to each individual, why don’t the software gives a choice of
numbering. This way each user could use the numbering he prefers or
wish for the chart or the report he wants to produce.
I was preparing an half fan chart and I was hoping to see the
Stradonitz or Ahnentafel number appearing in my chart.

Lyne,
I think Stradonitz is another name for Ahnentafel numbering or Sosa?
These are currently used in an Ancestor Book Report. If you uncheck to
include Events, Notes and Stories and to start the next generation on
a new page, this is a fairly compact report.
Since the numbers change with the starting person it doesn't make a
lot of sense to add them elsewhere though some do add them to the User
ID using a fixed person to calculate them.
There are a number of suggestions logged re showing these numbers
associated with who you have set relationships to or who you have set
Ancestor Colours to.
There are also suggestions for further reports using them. One problem
is that those wanting further reports don't seem to be able to agree
on the format of the output desired.
If you have a good format or suggestion where you want to see them,
send them in to be added for consideration.

Hi,
I’m new on that list and I’m using Legacy 9 since few weeks. I had the
8 version before.
I was wondering how to use Stradonitz numbering with Legacy. Is it
possible?
Thanks,
