Hi
I was just looking at the size of the Legacy Family Tree folder,
which I DO NOT use for my data or media, and found that it was 10.2GB in
size. This seems to be much more than I expected so I dug into it and
found that Legacy Family Tree\_AppData\Temp has 1773 files, all low
resolution BMP formats, amounting to 10GB.
These seem to be duplicates of most of the JPG files in my media
folders. There are also 4 .TMP files, which on investigation are
actually Access databases, and 2 .LDB files which appear to be Access
lock files.
What is also odd is that the file modified dates are in blocks - 784
dated 11/12/2017, 74 dated 6/12/2018, 133 dated 8/12/2018, 12 dated
10/12/2018, 84 dated 11/12/2018, 473 dated 19/2/2019 and 213 dated
10/4/2019.
Given that I have not been making many changes to my tree over the
last year I find this rather strange. The quality of the images makes it
very difficult to identify who they apply to, but my media files go back
to early 2014 with the majority added from Spring 2017.
Does anyone know what these are and whether they can be removed. I
rather suspect that they may relate to various updates to Legacy, but
why in blocks.
Regards
Chris
