The option to suggest a backup before merging is in the optional
messages portion of Options > Customize > 12. Other Settings > 12.5
Message boxes. It is item two on the Prompts and Reminders tab.
Since you are not telling Legacy to make the automatic backup before a
merge there is no backup to which Legacy can revert to undo your merges,
that is why you no longer see the option on the Tools menu after a merge.
