Just to add a bit to this, remember that the French took over England in
1066, so that 100% French does not rule out the English at all. The problem
with being English is that you have all kinds of ethnicities merging
together in the UK and even Ireland. There are Vikings that raided the UK,
Germans, French and Belgian, even now DNA is proving that the Irish have
links to the Basque region. Switzerland has a lot of French and don't
forget that the border of Germany and France was repeatedly changing prior
to the 20th Century.

I would not mass delete anything but make notes on them. Go by what all the
evidence shows you, not just DNA. Also, if I understand it correctly, at
present Ancestry's DNA only looks back 10 generations. The trickle-down DNA
prior to the 10 generation limit will still show up in some cases.
