I think that there are deeper issues which need to be addressed. Legacy is basically based on VB6 which is mid-90s technology and has out of support from Microsoft for 15+ years. MH has its own Family Tree Builder which is more in line with current GUI standards.
Both need to be updated to move to a modern GUI and database structure which would support Mac and Linux platforms as well as Windows. The question is what do MH want to do about it - develop one or both as they are; develop one and drop the other; or develop a totally new solution, and not one which is based on a remote based solution. And then you have to see what the new owner of MH wants to do.
