In addition to the normal .ldb database, Legacy also use a few other files. In this case, the file was the Main Tree~rc3.rc3. file which is used to hold relationship information. This can be easily removed and then recreated when you run the Relationship within the system.

May I ask the name of this file?

Legacy Family Tree tech support just solved the problem for me. A simple fix of just deleting the correct *.rc3 file.

Everyone can go back to their regular programming!

Thank for the suggestion: I use the 3-2-1 backup method. I'm ok, but I had some free time this morning and was hoping to dig a little deeper into my Italian roots.
Thanks again!

Make a copy of your last backup right away.
Do not make a backup of this file that may overwrite your last backup.

Subject: [LegacyUG] Relationship database error problem

This morning I woke up to a message on the computer that says:

For Your Information
Your file is too large for the collection of all possible relationships with the current options you have selected and the collection has been stopped at this point. The results will only show the 2736347 relationships that we have collected so far.

Then when I try to open the legacy family tree database file, I get this error message:

Error:0
Error opening relationships database.
Unrecognized database format C:\Users\jsmes\Documents\Legacy Family Tree\Data\Main Tree~rc3.rc3.
Would you like to TRY IT AGAIN?

Does anyone have any suggestions or is this something I need to reach out to tech support about?

Cheers, Jon
