I haven't tested this thoroughly with all reports but I just tried adding a second alternate name to someone in my tree and when I ran a Descendant Book report it read "Other names for Joseph were Joseph Dinnage and Joseph Testing" rather than "Another name for Joseph was Joseph Dinnage" as it said before I added the second alternative.
If you are finding that only some reports are making the change in wording I suggest you report this as a bug.
