I am new to Legacy and have imported all of my information from Family Tree Maker, as
I have found Legacy to me more powerful, simple things like replacing text couldn't be
done in FTM.

There are however a few things I do miss from FTM, at least I have not been able to
figure out how to do them in Legacy yet.

First, I have been unable to create an ancestor tree that includes any facts about the
individuals in my tree other than birth year and death year. With FTM, I could show
any event along with a date and location all included in the individuals box. The
date and location appear on the same line (word wrap as necessary), but I find it a
little easier to read and it takes up less space if the fields are concatenated. I
like to be able to show the exact date and place of birth, marriage, death and
immigration on my family tree. I also can't see a way to put labels at the top, like
parents, grandparents, great grandparents, etc. This helps keep the generations lined
up for me. These features would also be great in the pedigree chart.

The other thing I can't seem to figure out (at least right now) is in FTM reports can
be copied using the edit copy menu and then copied into Word or another text editor.
They can also be copied into Excel or a database program. So far all I have been able
to do is copy a single page as a window metafile. Sometimes I like to take a report
and use the more advanced editing capabilities of a word processor for printing.

All in all I think Legacy is a terrific program. It certainly performs more as a
database than FTM, which I find really great.

Keep up the good work.
