I recently updated to 18 Nov 2000. I just went into
OPTIONS/Customize/Data Entry/Edit and then to "Format of Names with Titles".
The two boxes deal with the insertion of "COMMAS" before and/or after a NAME.
My intention was to have a comma inserted after the NAME if there was a
Title Suffix ("Jr.", "IV", or any number of other choices). The actual
execution of this option places a comma after every NAME regardless of
whether a Suffix existed. The "Family View" screen displays the comma for
parents and all children. I do not believe this was the intent of this
OPTION.
If you select the other box a comma IS NOT added to each NAME unless
there is a PREFIX associated to that NAME. The application of the COMMA is
inconsistent. Any comments?
