There is a lot of discussion presently on the make up of genealogy programs. Once
again let me speak for simplicity.
A genealogy program is a data base used to record names of people, events/facts, notes
and sources. It should also permit us to link these people and print what is recorded.
As Porky Pig might say, "That's all folks".
Once that fundamental is implemented a superior program will attempt to accomodate the
wishes of many WITHOUT restricting individual preference (spelled
f-l-e-x-i-b-i-l-i-t-y and o-p-t-i-o-n-s). I'm really not interested in a programmer's
ability to make things exceedingly complex.
Bells and whistles only become valuable when they serve the purpose of most, if not
all, users. The people who purchase the program are the ones who should be able to
determine which, if any, bell to ring and which, if any, whistle to toot.
The downside of my position, of course, would be the reduction in length of this daily
news group. 8-^)
