Some of us understood that was your intention. And that's why I posted a
previous message encouraging you to not create another Name List that would
have some new features but lacked features of the old Name List. I
understand that I would still be able to use the old Name List. But you
need to get all the functionality together or you'll be hearing a new set
of requests to add tabs to the new Name List.
It seems that everyone likes what the Name List already does, so why not
just improve the left-hand portion of the current Name List (the
multi-column grid that currently contains RIN/Name/Sex/1/2/3)? Allow the
grid component to scroll horizontally, let us specify which columns to
display, and let us rearrange the columns. Many of us use 1024x768 displays
and would be able to see everything we need without scrolling horizontally
(particularly if you put a splitter bar between the left and right halves
of the window). Those with smaller displays would still have all the
required functionality in one place but may have to scroll somewhat. That's
still way better than having two Name Lists, each lacking some functionality.
What do you think of doing it the way I suggest?
