Not the reason for me.  As mentioned in my original message the source
program for generating the GEDCOM doesn't matter:  I've tried using
GEDCOMs from TMG, PAF, GenViewer, Generations... all the same result.

I have FTM v. 7 for reports.  I have no problems importing a Legacy
gedcom into FTM.  I'm also running Win 2000 Pro.  Sounds more like a
possible error in the database the gedcom came from.  Have you run the
Legacy routines to repair damaged databases?
