Just my two cents! If I wanted to do this I would
do the files in what ever format I wanted building bookmarks back and forth? Where
ever, what ever I thought fit my
purpose. Then convert these files to
a PDF format and write to the CD as I want, This way
it can be searched in many ways it
could also have a index if I wanted and any amount of images that I might
want? I would not convert to HTML
because it would be slow and make all my files bigger. Gene -----Original
Message----- Hi Dave &
List, This is about
the same thing that I'm planning on doing. I'd love to link from the
Legacy Generated individual record to a WORD file or EXCEL file rather than go
through the two step process of creating two home/index pages. I was
going to convert my WORD & EXCEL files to HTML so anybody with a browser
could read them from the CD. Some of these WORD files are quite large and
I'd hate to paste them into LEGACY note files. My main
motivation in this endeavor is to avoid printing a book but still be able
to share with those interested. A second "motivator" would be
"preservation of data" for posterity (how ever many months this might
be ;-) Anybody else
have any thoughts? -----

East: I have
been working on that same problem for the past two weeks. I'm trying to
put some life histories on a CD along with the Legacy generated pedigree
pages. My best solution so far is to create my own Start Page with links to
the histories and add a link from the Legacy Index Page to my Start
Page. This two step process is not ideal but it beats modifying the
links on some 4000 pedigree pages. I, too, would like to see a
better solution to the problem. Dave
