Lets say you have a baptice record, mother, father, child and witnesses. You don't 
know who the 
witnesses are, but you allso have a will. Making list from those and other master 
sources gives the 
information that one of the witnesses is the brother of the mother, and thereby you 
find her maiden name. 
Having a list of all in a county doesn't make it impossible, but a  lot more difficult 
to find connection's.
By the way, have you tried the "Make list" feature in the master lists? If not, try it 
and see what nice feature 
it is.
