What I mean is that if I do decide in the future to take up the job of creating short location names, I want to start with a file where they are all the same as the long ones, not with one where many of the long and short names differ because I've edited the long (or vice versa) location (maybe to fix an error!) and the short name remained the same. If I print a report with short names after going through and adding short names, any that I missed may have old data that is actually incorrect, not just "not shortened yet." Unless every time I edit, I edit two identical fields even though I'm not using the feature at this time.
