Kristian,
The initial proposal I made was that Millennia might consider offering a
downloadable manual in PDF format as an option to purchasing the hard copy
book.

There are several advantages for both the users and Millennia:
1. It is possible for Millennia to add or issue updates/revisions to
individual pages on their website. These could be downloaded by all - even
those with a hard copy.
2. Bookmarks in the PDF would allow fast lookups
3. One or more pages can be printed out, marked up, hung on the wall,
whatever, depending on the user's current need.
4. The manual could be downloaded at the same time as the program. Millennia
already has the manual in digital format. Little effort is required to issue
it in PDF format. This would complement/complete the downloadable version.
5. The PDF manual is readily available on the user's screen, not buried
under papers or pillow in the bedroom :-)) when they need to do a lookup.
6. The price of the PDF (I suggested ~$7.50-$10 would supplement the
printing cost of the hard copy manuals without the need for extra investment
from Millenia. At the same time, especially with thought to international
customers, the extra cost for postage, handling, etc. is avoiding, the
manual quickly available. The user is paying for the manual, there is no
change to the copyright, etc. and the user must bear the cost of downloading
and any printing that is desired.

It has never been a question of the manual being a worthwhile investment. It
is.
