I do kind of doubt that the digest version is the major factor here, because I never hear repeated complaints about people not snipping their posts. I see a great many posts that need a great deal of snipping off of the old messages carried foward - I have seen the same messages (including loooong ones) carried forward over and over and over, 3 and 4 messages deep ... That is just as disruptive to digest versions, but I have yet to see it complained about. Oh well.
