While I don't know about the specifics of which kind of server accepts what
for file names, what I have learned (sometimes the hard way) is that it is
always safest to:
1) keep your file names short (8 spaces, if possible)
2) do not add any spaces, underscores, hyphens, etc in the filename
3) use only lowercase letters in your filenames (i. e. no caps for AuntJody
... sorry, auntie jo!)
4) if you use folders to contain your images, make sure to follow same
"rules" and
5) lots of times when you build your web pages, the "insert image" function
will read from the current path ... you don't want this... you want your
html source to read for your INTENDED path. So, once you've got your html
pages looking sweet on your monitor, you've got to ensure that your source
reads your appropriate folder/filename as it will be at the web location.
This means that you will NOT see your images on your final html page before
you send it up... only the 'broken link' box.

Not sure if this is a help or not, just my experiences.

If she's uploading to a unix server, won't it hiccup on the embedded spaces?
