Kristian,

As for same sex relationships, I was told by one of the programmers a
year ago that there would have to be some extensive recoding of the
program to make this work in Legacy. I am sure it isn't something Ken
or Dave will undertake in the foreseeable future.

As for an unmarried person adopting a child: no problem. Just consider
this situation like a case where one parent is unknown and set the child
status as Adopted. Please see my earlier post "Relationships and
Legacy." The link there will show you how to handle single parents in
Legacy.

If the sex of a child is unknown, from the gender options (M, F or ?) in
the Individual Information screen simply select the "?" for unknown.
You can have a line of single parents whose gender is unknown "?". When
Legacy tries to change it, just set it back to "?".

With only one "Search and Replace" I made this perfect Descendant Report
for a line of asexual (genderless) clones:

                        Descendants of Genderless I

                                First Generation

1. Genderless I.

         This creature cloned itself.

             + 2 U i. Genderless II. (Clone)

                          Second Generation (Children)

2. Genderless II.

         This creature cloned itself.

             3 U i. Genderless III. (Clone)

Admittedly I am stretching things here, but there are a lot of things
you can already do in Legacy if you only know how. It's a brave new
world!

I will not repeate all under this topic, but since Legacy both is a
genealogical
and a family history program there are some unusuall relations the
program don't
handle, allthough they are pretty common.

Same sex relationship: I think you should look serious into this item.
It was
common but hidden, no it's open.

Single adoption: Joan Best isn't the only unmarried who in one way or
another
has adopted children. Old unmarried aunts adopting orphants from their
family
gives problem.

Unknown sex - having children: From deduction and sources we know people
having
grandchildren. The line may go through a daughter or a son, and I want
to show
that in reports.

No known descendants: I may show "end of line" with "this person never
married"
or "this couple didn't have children". I could like an aditional Button:
"This
person/couple didn't have known descendants" Showing end of line both in
Family
wiev and in reports.
