I was a long term TMG user before moving to Legacy. The Gedcom transfer
was, and is, the only way to make this transition. Yes, I lost all roles
and witness events but I gained so much with Legacy's intuitive interface to
most database functions and its speed that, to me, it was definitely worth
the few months it took me to get my data cleaned up per Legacy's processes.
You can add a Witness event to Legacy - problem is you'll have to enter it
for each person. The way I solved that was to create a witness list for
each event and attach it to the person who experienced the event. For
instance, a list of all witnesses and participants to a wedding is included
in the marriage events of the couple.

Hope this helps,

Jim
