has been running a series for genealogists on digital cameras, digital photography & related software since summer. The author is Denny Ridenour, one of the editors of the newsletter. Be warned that his style is a bit wordy and repetitious. Even so, I believe that the articles contain something for everyone, no matter level of expertise. He explains his reasons for preferring a digital camera to a scanner for both photos and especially documents & book pages. He has many tips for how to adjust distance etc. - including lots of illustrations of homemade equipment.
