It is true that your Windows will keep on working. HOWEVER,
before long your new applications will no longer work on the old version of
Windows. Many now are no longer compatible with Win 3.0 or 3.1. Most everyone
has long ago forgotten about Win 2.0 It was really a dog or the 8 inch floppies
that systems worked with. The point is we like to keep the OS that we become
familiar with and get the newest and flashiest applications. Eventually the
rubber band that connects the two breaks and usually no one is even around that
can transfer the files or has the interpreter to filter them. It is happening at
an ever faster rate. The saying "The faster I run the behinder I get" is still
true. The minute I find that I start having file exchange problems is the time I
go for a complete upgrade --- everything.
