You can switch off the music whith the "stop loading" button in your browser,
mostly.

I too don't like to hear music or audio on web-pages when it's not essential
to the content on the page. I've got my own music at home and when I want to
hear that I'm perfectly able to turn the stereo on. Often the songs are of a
very poor (midi-)quality too or aren't to my taste.

 [Hi Diane,
 [Beautiful site and tasteful choice of music, IMHO. However, when I clicked
 [on "Play", the QuickTime player opened with the slide controls showing;
 [otherwise the browser page went blank. I tried it three or more times, with
 [the same result.  Any suggestions?
 [
 [I fully agree with optional music.
