Please be specific as to what country you are talking
about. My experience in Scandinavia is that many, probably
the majority of death records show two dates, both the date
of death and of burial. Or they may show only one, usually
the date of burial. Some records from Norway show *3*
dates: death, burial, and the date the commital or funeral
service was held. Often the deceased was buried fairly
quickly and the service was held at a later date (often a
Sunday) when there was a minister in the locality.
