Probably not so important.  Unless they were ashes because of the Salem
Witch Trials, indian attacks, or some other family story of significance.
It is situational.  As genealogist we strive to gather information AND proof
of that information. The depth and breadth of that varies widely from person
to person.

Promise - no flames - but it never hurts to play it safe.
