Once again, Access is the answer--it is easy to pull out name rank and serial number for all people whose cause of death (in TblIR "DeathCause") contained the string "cancer" (or, indeed any other note field that contained it). I have 10 in my file. Producing a report that mimicked a Legacy report might be a lot of work, but once you are staring at what you want, moving the results to a word processor or other program you know better would be easy. I wonder if there is a simple freeware SQL "asker" out there so one isn't stymied by not having the huge and expensive microsoft access? Jonathan

I've looked at all of the help files but I can't seem to find out how to do this? regards, Kenneth Carkeet Legacy User Group Etiquette guidelines can be found at: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp To find past messages, please go to our searchable archives at: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup%40mail.millenniacorp.com/ To unsubscribe please visit: http://www.legacyfamilytree.com/LegacyLists.asp Legacy User Group Etiquette guidelines can be found at: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp To find past messages, please go to our searchable archives at: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup%40mail.millenniacorp.com/ To unsubscribe please visit: http://www.legacyfamilytree.com/LegacyLists.asp
