There are several free file-splitting programs you can download from places
like Tucows or ZD-net. Most of them will allow you to split files into 1.4
MB chunks--that is, floppy disk size pieces--and you can reassemble the
files with the same software. Choose one that will run on all of the newer
operating systems--you don't want to be stuck with one that works on Win 98
but not on your new system when you finally upgrade. Mine is called
Splitter.

You then split the file in a folder on your hard drive, and load the chunks
onto as many floppies as it takes.

Slow--but it works, and the price is right. Not a bad way to move files
from your current computer to a new one, also.

I am new to this group. I don't know anything about the backup debate
spoken of in this message but maybe someone could tell me how to back up
Legacy to a disk. I do not have a CD write drive on my computer and I have
windows 98. Someday I hope to have a new computer with a CD write but that
will be a long time as my hubby hates computers and calls this one my "toy".
I have a CD drive to play but not write. The only drive that I can copy
things on is a 3 1/2" disk drive.
Thanks,
Ellie
