Tamara, Thanks to Cathy's help I was happy to find out that -Advanced- Set Living from the Tools Menu does exactly what you mentioned.. This from the Help File:
"When someone of this age is found, it is assumed that all of their ancestors are older than that and that they are all dead. Legacy then sets their Living flag to NO as far back as the line goes from there, regardless of whether or not they have birth or christening dates." In my file a few were missed here and there, but they were easy to spot with a Descendants View - probably some caution should be taken as regards spouses that are not in the line. I still would **really** like to see that range dropped down by one number so I can force a question when I am entering new people without birth and death dates. But what a nice surprise to find this global change method. Good going Millennium team! I've experienced the same problem that Anna described, and I'm glad to know about this "Intellimurder" feature. (*laugh!*) Something I'd like to see is an even smarter use (on the part of the program) of the Presumed Dead function: if a person is past the "cutoff" age (110, or whatever I tell it) and that person has parents, obviously they're older, and therefore also dead. And that person's parents, etc. I think all those people should automatically be set to dead. --Tamara Bellevue, WA, USA *********** REPLY SEPARATOR *********** On 12/4/2003 at 8:17 AM Cathy wrote: >Hi Anna, > >Yes there is an easier way. :-) > >What you are missing is under Tools > Advanced Set Living. >This marks older generations as dead.
