If the problem were just the counties of Canadian Provinces that were
missing that would be a problem, yet not difficult to correct. However, in
my Oct. 10, 2003 post (and several others later) to this list I stated:
"Geo database shows Hampton as N 453200 W 0655000
The even numbers for the minutes and seconds caught my curiosity, so I
checked other sources. In Place Auditor (now World Place Advisor), the same
New Brunswick town is show as N 45 31 43 W 065 51 17. I then checked the
Natural Resources Canada web site and found Hampton listed as N 45 31 43 W
065 51 17. Place Auditor and Natural Resources Canada agree, but not Geo
database. A couple of checks of Ontario cities gave the same difference."
As you will not from the above, in addition to the Geo database missing the
counties of Canadian Provinces, the Longitude and Latitude identified for
the listings in the Geo database are wrong. Since the information in the Geo
database is unreliable for Canadian locations, I have decided to not use the
Geo database.

Yes, I agree that the missing Canadian counties are a problem. I have
extensive Canadian ancestry in every province except P.E.I. It was a
headache, but I went to http://geonames.nrcan.gc.ca/index_e.php for Canadian
Geographical Names lookup.
I anyone has a good source for a geographical database for Canada that has
counties we would appreciate knowing about it.

When I search the GeoDatabase for Canadian cities the county is always
blank. For example, Hamilton, Ontario is listed as:
Hamilton, , Ontario, Canada
When it should be:
Hamilton, Wentworth , Ontario, Canada
Do I have a corrupt DB file or is this the normal behavior?
