Maggie please e-mail a copy of the GEDCOM to me and Sherry,
as Sherry asked a while ago. That way we don't need to register at
the myfamily site, and you don't have to tell us passwords. But it seems
to me that we really need a copy of that file to be able to help you more.
It does look like a Legacy bug to me because part of the error message
you reported is "Invalid procedure call or argument". That means that
part of the Legacy program is not working with another part of the program
as it was designed. Granted this my be due to something wrong in the
GEDCOM file, but the program should handle those errors without having
"procedure call or argument" errors.
If you e-mail us copies of the .ged file (BTW how big is it?) Sherry and
I can see if we get the same error on our 'puters. If we do, especially if
Sherry gets the same error and she can't make it go away by various things
that she knows to do, then that's to me a stronger indicator of a bug in
Legacy. But in order to fix that bug they need to be able to duplicate it
on their systems, which is much easier with your (cousin's) file to use
as a test case.
If I have the same problem, I'll look at the gedcom with an eye to fixing
it in such a way that you won't lose any data and so that you can read it
in to Legacy 5.
Has anyone else had problems with GEDCOMs downloaded from the
MyFamily site? Has anyone successfully loaded such a GED into Legacy?
