not exactly. My question to you is, are you trying to find all the 1880 census records
in your DB? If so, put the census year in the appropriate source names. I'm not sure
what you would find, but I think you are pushing the horse to pull the wagon. I use
this as a template 'NC, Cabarrus, 1850 US Census', 'NRG, ST, Indre Lensvik 1865
Census' a Norwegian census, for my census sources. It is easy to tag all of a given
year, then print the alpha list of everyone you have noted under it.
Or are you looking for names to search for. The method you are using, is the way I
identify possible ToDo's in the census, but using them in birth and death dates,
respectfully. What you are doing is trying to make a computer as smart as humans.
They are FASTER. They cannot 'understand' , so you must use Boolean Logic (Set theory
in Math class).

Subject: [LegacyUG] Using wildcards in searches.

I am creating a search of individuals who have census events for a given
year.

My search criteria is:
    Individual Event-Name Equal To
Census
        and
    Individual Event-Date Before
1-1-1881
        and
    Individual Event-Date After
12-31-1879

This works and does give me the appropriate results, but I was wondering if
there were a more efficient way to use wildcards so that you would only have
to enter one date criteria. Is it possible to do something like:
    Individual Event-Name Equal To
Census
        and
    Individual Event-Date Equal To
*-*-1880

If it is not currently possible to use wildcards in date fields, I would
like to put this on the ever growing wish list.
