placement may give a clue. Are the children in birth order together, or does it seem
there is one bunch, then the other? Where are they in relation to the parents. When
there are multiple families in a building, keep in mind the 'witness' hopefully would
not do the reporting in a confusing way. If you can not make an educated guess, then
make both John and Sarah as full parents, (with matching spouses). That will give each
child a clump of four parents. If you ever find info to remove one, great. If not,
anyone looking at it will see the notes, and understand the quandry.

Subject: [LegacyUG] how do you list grandkids when you don't know the parents?

Hey there List!

I would be most interested in your ideas as to how you list grandkids of a
couple when you don't know who the parents are -- but you do know who the
grandparents are?

For example.... on the 1870 for one of my family members there are the
parents: John and Sarah and 2 of their daughters (ages 29 and 26) then
there are a whole slew of young kids some the same age and the same name ---
it is going to take some time and research to sort out who they all belong
to --- but I don't want to exclude them from my database in the meantime.

I would be most interested in your ideas as to how you handle this problem.

Thanks for the great tips!
Tamie
