Susan:
Assuming you have some consistent way of identifying the church throughout
your data set -- for example here is what I have:
Augusta - Evangelical Lutheran Church, Northumberland Co, PA
I stick with the following format:
City - Church/Cemetery/etc, County, State, Country
In my database, it is very easy to find all people that are a particular
location/church
I just go to Master Location list and find:
Augusta - Evangelical Lutheran Church, Northumberland Co, PA
Highlight this location, then "Show List"
Then Tag everyone in the list using say "Tag" 1 (Make sure you clear all Tag
1s before tagging).
I now can do a "File Export" to a GEDCOM using "Tag 1" and I have everyone
that has a reference to
Augusta - Evangelical Lutheran Church, Northumberland Co, PA
The trick is, Have you been consistent using the same format as shown above
for name churches with locations, marriages, etc. If you have used a
several different formats when you have entered your Church locations, you
will need to find every different variation for your Church location and
continue the same procedure as noted above, but just keep using Tag 1 (do
not untag everyone) the during your 2nd tagging, that way the newly tagged 1
folks will be added to your original list.
