Hi Rich,
You can use copy and paste in Legacy in any field where you can place a cursor.

However, what you need to use in this case is the ability to Edit a Master Source but Save it as a New Source.

When you are in the Master Source List (View > Master Lists > Source - or you may have an icon to this on the toolbar) Highlight a source that is most like the one you wish to enter and choose Edit.
Once edited, Click Save. Y
ou now presented with the choice to
EITHER
Apply the changes to ALL references of this master source
OR
Apply the changes to a NEW copy of this master source.

You need to click the second option to produce a new master source.

Hope this helps and you enjoy using Legacy,

Cathy

This is my first posting as a relatively new user. I am
currently in the process of entering some inherited genealogy files into
the Deluxe Legacy 5 program. For example I have 30 or so birth
certificates that need to be entered as Master Sources. I am a 2
fingered typist! Much of the data is repetitive for example the Master
Source Title consists of variations on the same title in that many of
the individuals were born in the same city. When using a word processor
I normally make good us of the cut or copy and paste options to save
time typing. My question is does Legacy allow one to use similar
short-cuts for entering the same or similar data into the individual
fields in different Source Citations? I don't think that the Source
Clipboard would specifically help address this problem - but I'm not
sure and I haven't experimented with it yet. Thank you. Rich G. in NH
