Sid, I had similar problems with Legacy and other programs on my old computer which ran WIN ME. I believe SE is rather close in nature to ME. My problems did not disappear until I purchased a new computer. Maybe someone else can provide you with a technical answer as to what is happening, I can't, but I would suggest you increase the frequency of your backups until you buy a new computer.
