Thanks, Ron, you're probably right about "death of gedcom" but I know my friend can't cope with another family tree program (especially with only support by email). She would probably give up altogether! I may send her a pdf, which she can print and read, then key in people and basic events. Accompanied by .rtf so she can cut'n'paste text into sources as required.. Well I always getting involved in updates, I quite enjoy the bug reports (hope I don't whine too much!).
