Then when using the Master Source, in the Source Detail put the date (and means email/phone call/letter/conversation at party ...) and where you have a text - put the text (email) in the Source Detail Text. In this case you would probably choose not to print the Detail Text on reports. When there are lots of details in the same email, set up the Source Clipboard with Master Source and then Source Detail as this particular email. Then wherever you enter the information from the email, you can source it with a single click. Cathy, I think I'm getting this. I will need a few minutes to digest the info in your second posting, but I think it's sinking in. You have correctly surmised I don't want the text to print in reports, and there are indeed many details in each chatty email. I have used the Source Clipboard effectively before, but stumbled on it accidentally and have no idea how I did it. But wjhat you have described sounds like exactly what I want to do. Thanks so much for your guidance. -- Alice Legacy User Group Etiquette guidelines can be found at: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp To find past messages, please go to our searchable archives at: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup%40mail.millenniacorp.com/ To unsubscribe please visit: http://www.legacyfamilytree.com/LegacyLists.asp
